The set of behavioral reactions that belittle a person in their sense of self is called an inferiority complex. He makes people feel insecure, seek outside help and support. Many of them are terrified of standing out from the crowd, but secretly envy those who emphasize their individuality in every possible way.
Causes of occurrence
The developmental inferiority complex is different from other similar phenomena. For each group of people, differing in age, social status, gender and race, there are provocative factors. But I want to consider three main categories, as I see it.
Inferiority complex in children
In this case, upbringing in an incomplete or dysfunctional family is an early prerequisite for the formation of an inferiority complex. The child does not receive enough affection, care, or, on the contrary, becomes the center of the life of his mother, grandmother, and then faces the rejection of himself as ideal in the external society. It is difficult for those children who have one of the parents - a tyrant. Growing up, boys and girls carry a feeling of uselessness and inferiority into adulthood, and this affects their future fate.
Inferiority complex in women
Self-esteem for the fair sex is like a core, having lost it, they become weak-willed individuals, dependent on the opinions of others. A normal childhood for them does not always serve as a guarantee of the absence of an inferiority complex. Indeed, in addition to mom and dad, there is a society, men, who also influence self-esteem already in adulthood. There are standards of beauty preached in society that are difficult to reach. And the list of personal characteristics that a "normal" hearth keeper should have, dependence on the stronger sex - all this unsettles a woman and makes her doubt herself.
Inferiority complex in men
The most common prerequisites leading to the development of a sense of inferiority in men include low social status, unattractive appearance, problems in communicating with women, and unrequited love. Men may not show displeasure so as not to provoke ridicule, but in fact, many of them are worried about their failed life.
Is it possible to overcome an inferiority complex?
Yes, and for this you do not need to have superpowers. To achieve the desired result, it is recommended to highlight your advantages, recognize weaknesses and adequately accept criticism.
There are no ideal people in the world, but everyone has the right to love and respect
The environment plays an important role in the fight against the inferiority complex. If a person communicates with positive personalities who are not afraid to look funny and stand out from the crowd, he gradually adopts their beliefs and frees himself from the burden of imaginary inferiority.
It is worth mentioning separately about self-development, as it can bring a notorious person to a completely different level. For example, financial problems are solved by training and subsequent employment in the profession. And strength training in the gym and a healthy lifestyle help transform an imperfect figure.
If you are unable to cope with your inferiority complex, then you need the help of a psychologist.
Your life is in your hands!

There is another type of PTSD called Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD), which results from prolonged exposure to traumatic situations rather than from a single incident.
