Now we come to the denouement of our story - to the answer to the question: why, in some cases, the Monster is disenchanted, and in others it is not.

Let's take a look at two options for plot development. Two fairy tales: the first - "Beauty and the Beast" (or "The Scarlet Flower"), the second - "Bluebeard". It is about this second fairy tale that Clarissa Pinkola Estess writes in her book. Let me remind you that it is there that the term "natural predator of the soul" is mentioned, which I told you about.

On the one hand, these tales are very similar. In both cases, we are talking about the fact that a young naive girl is connected with a relationship with a man who turns out to be a monster, a monster

Let me remind you the plot of the tale of Bluebeard. A handsome, amiable and very rich man begins to look after a young girl. The only thing that worries him is that he has a blue beard. But at the same time he is so courteous and attentive, he looks after so beautifully that she decides: "his beard is not so blue." The girl agrees to marry him, he brings her to a beautiful castle and allows her to do anything, except for one thing - she cannot enter one of the rooms of this castle, which is locked with a key. But one day Bluebeard leaves the Castle, his wife invites her sisters to visit and they persuade her to open this forbidden room.

As soon as she inserts the key into the keyhole - it is filled with blood. In the forbidden room, she sees the remains of Bluebeard's previous wives, who were his victims. And then she realizes what a terrible monster she married and realizes that she needs to save her life if she does not want to become the next victim.

Everything ends well - the heroine manages to send a message to her brothers, who come to her rescue and save her. Well, the brothers kill Bluebeard and feed his remains to wild animals.

In the fairy tale about Beauty and the Beast, the plot is very similar. The heroine also finds herself at the mercy of an evil monster and also violates the ban - picks a scarlet flower. In various versions, this is done either by herself or by her father. But, what is the main difference - she manages to disenchant this monster.

And now, we have two options for the development of events. In one case, the only right decision is to run away and destroy this monster, and in the other case - to continue to love him, surround him with care and attention - and then it will turn into a handsome prince.

Although, in both tales, the Beast tries to be good and loves this girl in his own way. There was even a Soviet cartoon based on the fairy tale Bluebeard, where he seems kind and good, but he comes across women" title="Image" />

Let's see why the fate of the heroines of these two tales develops so differently. To do this, let us recall the version of the fairy tale about Beauty and the Beast, where there is a character named Gaston - he also looks after Beauty, wanting to marry her. And he just has an obvious resemblance to Count Bluebeard. In this version of the tale, his opposition to the Beast is clearly emphasized - an enchanted prince who has a repulsive appearance, but his feelings are sincere, he fell in love with Beauty and wishes her well. Gaston is his opposite, he is attractive in appearance, handsome, strong and rich, but at the same time he has the soul of a monster (just like Bluebeard). In the end, he does so much evil that he gets killed.

Now one more important point. Let's remember how this prince turned into a Beast. This happened due to the fact that a curse was imposed on him by an evil witch. He was very handsome and rich, but at the same time - narcissistic and cruel. He changed women like gloves, broke many hearts, loved no one but himself. He boasted of his beauty and wealth, but did not see his inner ugliness. Therefore, the witch taught him a rather cruel, but fair lesson: she turned him into a monster, servants into interior items, thereby depriving him of external beauty and status, which he considered his main virtues. At the same time, the witch's spell was not irreversible: if someone falls in love with the prince in his monstrous guise until the moment when the scarlet flower withers, he will regain his former appearance.

Thus, the prince was deprived of his main

He had to try very hard, exclusively with the help of his inner, spiritual qualities, his attitude and actions, to win over the young beauty to him so that she would love him.

Strictly speaking, most of the work for Beauty has already been done by the Witch. The Monster Prince no longer had any other choice but to try with all his might to change internally, because if no one loves him before the last petal falls from the scarlet flower, he will die (according to another version, he will remain a Monster forever).

Before we talk further about fairy tales - let's see what this might mean in a real situation? What can a woman do who finds herself in a similar situation, who suddenly finds out that her man, attractive and respectable in appearance, turned out to be a terrible monster inside? How to make him see his inner ugliness, if he is firmly convinced of his perfection and does not consider it necessary to change something?

To be continued…
