Envy and admiration are automatic mental reactions triggered by the corresponding "levers" in the unconscious due to the appearance of certain "stimuli" in a person's perception. A bit tricky wording, nevertheless it accurately reflects what happens to us when we encounter someone / something who / what cannot leave us indifferent.

It is believed that being jealous of others is bad. At the same time, it is usually not specified for whom and why. And I will clarify - this is bad exclusively for you, because the process of activating envy blocks your vital energy and leads to deep neuroses. But the problem is that, while rationally understanding that it is stupid to envy, we nevertheless envy, without ADMITTING to ourselves in this. And what we do not recognize and do not realize completely controls our life with all that it implies.

A game of universal scope

Envy is just one of the many manifestations of the Game "Sacrifice" in which the overwhelming majority of humanity is immersed on a spiritual level. One of many, but quite destructive to health.

If you haven’t become someone, you haven’t achieved something, you don’t have something, then from the point of view of this alien coordinate system, you are inferior. And the recognition of one's inferiority generates intolerable shame and wild fear of ridicule from others, which, due to the protective compensatory mechanisms of the psyche, are transformed into fierce anger and black hatred - the basis of cruel and aggressive behavior.

Two kinds of envy

Since a person understands with his mind that it is not good to feel anger and hatred, and aggressively rushing at others is also not the case, he seeks to displace negative experiences. It is known where they are displaced - into the unconscious, where they become invisible, but do not disappear anywhere, and begin to manifest themselves more subtly - through envy. It is especially destructive for a person when such envy is not realized and not recognized, since the mechanisms of lying to oneself come into play, mixing and aggravating the problem.

Envy is hate-light. I see another who, within the framework of my uncritically accepted coordinate system, looks like someone who has something there, achieved something, is successful in something and, since I don't have this, then, feeling his inferiority in connection with this, I hate him deafly. So the Soviet people were jealous of the nomenclature and trade workers, since in the Soviet system of coordinates these people were successful, because had access to scarce resources. But for a European living in a different coordinate system, envy of the party nomenclature and the hucksters is sheer idiocy.

Of course, there is, let's say, "natural envy" - for example, an athlete who paid little attention to the amount and intensity of training envies the athlete who performs better, because he was engaged seriously and with full dedication. But such envy is a form of immaturity, personal lack of freedom and deep inner barriers that created insurmountable obstacles for the first athlete to engage in intense and effective training. Here we can only blame ourselves.

How to get rid of envy

Regarding the first variant of envy, the method of overcoming is outwardly simple, but requires colossal inner work on oneself. This method consists in BEING YOURSELF, realizing your uniqueness and originality, working out YOUR OWN system of life coordinates, understanding and starting to realize your mission, your life purpose.

Then, as we move in this direction, the neurotic need to compare oneself with others for some qualities and evaluate oneself through the prism of external “categories of success” will disappear by itself. You will simply not be interested in it.

In the second case, it is pointless and useless to advise and recommend anything. If you don’t want to recognize yourself as a source of changes in your life, don’t want to waste time and energy on your own growth, but believe in “quick results”, freebies and “gifts of the universe,” then “medicine, as they say, is powerless in this case, sir..

Distribution of energy for free

With admiration, things are a little different. This is the emotion of delight, ecstasy, rapture. That is, the emotion is positive, positive, or, if you use any scale of emotions, an emotion of high tone. And any emotion, as you know, is a physical manifestation of vital energy. And this is where the fun begins.

Intuitively, each of us knows or feels that energy can be given, taken and, interestingly, exchanged. Therefore, unrequited love saturates one and depletes the other, and mutual love ONLY strengthens both. This is the property of energy - with a mutual flow of energy, they are not summed up, but, as it were, multiplied. By the way, with mutual hatred, the same story - both of themselves are simply exhausted.

In light of this, the nature of admiration becomes clearer. It turns out that when we admire someone, we only give up our energy, receiving nothing in return, that is, we cut off pieces from ourselves, weaken our energy potential for nothing, you live well.

So is it worth it to admire some kind of person, thereby enhancing his "halo"? It turns out that it’s not worth it. Why would someone give their life energy for free, which an ordinary person does not have very much left? Isn't it better to use it for your own purposes, for your own strengthening?

Sounds reasonable and in most cases it is. I would like to note that admiration and praise of the “guru”, which enhances his energy potential, is a tough and obligatory element in the variegated sects.

Therefore, “playing with one goal” means playing to your detriment (or certainly not to your advantage).

Investing in a better world for all of us

But there is one more interesting point related to the systemic nature of the World. It consists in the fact that not only a few healthy elements can heal the system in which they are included. But a healthy system is also capable of healing individual diseased elements. So, for example, a person who has stumbled, having fallen into a healthy team with a healthy order, is “saturated” with its spirit and becomes a healthy person himself.

There are people whose life and aspirations are aimed at the development of Life, people who have set themselves worthy Goals aimed at improving and healing large systems (nature, humanity). Such as Leo Tolstoy or the creator of TRIZ and the Theory of the Development of a Creative Personality Heinrich Altshuller. In my practice, I noticed that admiring people of this order and caliber, I DO NOT LOSE energy. I associate this with the fact that a person who has set and realizes a Worthy Goal, as it were, oversteps the boundaries of his ego and, becoming more integral, integrates with the World.

And the World is not selfish, it not only consumes, but also gives, that is, it realizes a natural and fair exchange. Admiring a person who has set and realizes a Worthy Goal, you thus admire the whole World. In this situation, it turns out that your admiration, your life energy ultimately works for you. What you give is what you get. With interest.

We are responsible for who we admire

In conclusion, I will add about personal responsibility for admiration. In Germany in the 1930s and Russia in the 1990s, there were many people who sincerely admired Hitler and Yeltsin and thereby strengthened their energetic "halo", which allowed the latter to come to power. What this ultimately led to everyone who knows a little history is well known.

Be attentive to yourself and the World, direct your energy consciously and with meaning, and not compulsively and reflexively.
