Children's drawings sometimes resemble cave art. But psychologists advise you to take your own child's scabbards more seriously. Young artists look at the adult world with different eyes. True, real. And often, fears, melancholy, screams and signals for help are hidden behind children's krakozyabras: "Mom, I feel bad, help me." How can you find out what's going on with your child using a box of pencils?

- If it seems to you that it is easier to just talk to a child and he will tell everything himself, you are deeply mistaken, - says Olga Garkavets, a psychologist. - Sometimes it is hard for us, adults, to pour out our souls, but what can we say about little fidgets? The kid himself does not understand what is happening to him, and is not yet able to express it in words. And drawing for him is not an art, but a means of communication. Here he has complete freedom. A pencil allows you to express everything that has accumulated in the soul of a little man.

The psychologist recommends studying the drawings no earlier than the child is 4-5 years old. You need to ask him to draw his family. At the same time, it is not worth specifying who and how best to draw, list family members. Let the child do everything himself, then the picture of his inner state will be the most objective.

There is a contact

According to the psychologist, the child should not draw under strict supervision. Take a book, show that you are distracted by something, and just peek at the drawing sequence. It is important not only to see the drawing, but also to trace how the child behaves during the drawing of family members.

So, the first child will draw the most significant person for himself. Then the less significant and so on. It is important to see where he will position himself, who is closer to him, with whom he has the best contact. Sometimes a family member is missing from the drawings. The child finds a compelling excuse for this.

- At one of the classes, five-year-old Daniel did not draw his mother and said that she was in training, she was not at home, - says Olga. - Mom really paid little attention to her son, although she sincerely believed that everything was in order. Sometimes a child forgets to draw himself. In this case, parents should think hard: perhaps the child feels uncomfortable in the family, as if he is superfluous there.

Noseless family

If the drawn family has no ears, mouths, noses in the picture, this indicates alienation, closeness.

“For example, at one of my consultations, a six-year-old boy drew a family without a nose,” says the specialist. - In the conversation, we managed to find out that the family maintains the appearance of warm relations, but in fact all family members are closed from each other. A bright red large mouth speaks of aggression in the family. When one girl portrayed the whole family with such mouths, her mother admitted that there are constant quarrels in the family.

Right size

Pay attention to the length of the arms and legs of the men. Very short limbs indicate that the child is experiencing discomfort in society during communication. The absence of hands indicates the powerlessness of a family member. The most thorough drawing is from the most beloved member of the family. By the way, if a child drew all family members holding hands, this is an indicator of harmony and a friendly atmosphere. The height of the child in the picture is important. The same height with parents is the idol of the family, too small is insecurity and low self-esteem. The closer family members are drawn to each other, the closer they are in life. If a child is drawn in the center, he feels loved and significant to his parents.

Alarming sign

If someone from the family is depicted with their backs or in profile, it means that they cause anxiety in the child. True, if a quarrel recently occurred between him and the baby, then drawing him from such angles is a temporary phenomenon. Kids are very emotional, it is very easy to offend them. And then they can generally exclude someone from the family from the drawing. Most often these are younger sisters and brothers, after the birth of which the child began to receive less attention and care. And the kid can reasonably argue for their absence: the little sister or brother is walking, playing in the next room, sleeping. The same fate can befall dad, with the only difference that in the moment captured on the sheet he is at work or on a business trip. This means that the child lacks the father's attention or is afraid of him and prefers to spend time without him.

After the child finishes drawing, invite him now to draw such a family as he would like to have, let him dream. You will see the difference for yourself.
