A person with BPD is someone who has experienced a tremendous amount of abuse during childhood and adolescence, as a result of which their personality is split. At the same time, a part of the personality is suppressed, driven deep inside and remains unconscious by him, and part is completely functional for himself. Such a person can live and work, get married, raise children, get a higher education. At school, he may look like a gray mouse and is often the victim of bullying. But it usually changes after school.

Splitting occurs as a result of an unbearable shock, which the psyche is unable to digest. When splitting, as a rule, an aggressive, lively, spontaneous part of the personality is suppressed, and with it a huge amount of resources. The other part of the personality is hypercompensated, that is, very bright, as a rule, talented and successful. But in close relationships, unable to withstand the intimacy filled with flashbacks of past experience, such a person often explodes with uncontrollable affects. He can be active at work and depressed and depressed at home. Next to him, other people feel like they are next to a powder keg. Such a person experiences a tremendous sense of his own inferiority, dissatisfaction, and unhappiness. As a result of the fact that his basic needs are not satisfied, in order to somehow satisfy them, he learns to manipulate, and in this he can be very successful. Usually such people are perceived as very charismatic, mesmerizing with their influence.

At the same time, such a person can be infinitely gullible at the beginning of an acquaintance. He idealizes people, trying to achieve their location, but if he does not achieve, then he is instantly disappointed and plunges them into the abyss of his rage. As a rule, he is prone to violence, women beat their children, but at the same time, following the example of their parents, they also choose rapists and become victims of violence themselves, continuing this vicious circle.

Therapy for borderline disorder can take several years, 5, 7, 10. By the time the suppressed parts of the personality are integrated, he can already experience the shock that he experienced, and only at this moment he is fully and completely able to know WHAT he experienced. Up to this point, the psyche is trying in every possible way to protect him from this awareness. In therapy, such a client very slowly, drop by drop, appropriates himself. This is a lot of tears, fear, pain and shame.
