How often, suspecting that something is wrong in your life, you do not take any steps to find out the real state of affairs? Thoughts "what if …", "And if I find out that … then what then, I still can't …?" often stop you? I think often.
For example, we suspect that a husband has a mistress, we have health problems, a child with drugs, and we don’t try to find out if this is so - after all, if this is true, we need to make decisions, to act. And consciously or not, we choose life "in ignorance" for ourselves. But at the same time, we continue to think about the problem, play the plots - thoughts will not go anywhere. Fantasies about reality are much more terrifying than reality itself. These fantasies add up to a chest of fears and whatever we do and wherever we go - the chest is with us. Like a pebble in a shoe prevents you from enjoying your walk, the chest of fears prevents you from enjoying life.
Sometimes thoughts in the "fear chest" swell to the size of our entire world, or several such "chests" are created. And so, while all our attention is paid to problems "in fantasies", something important is left without attention, and a real problem arises, and one more, and another …
The problem "in the box", if it exists, will also grow (after all, we are afraid to even think about it, not to take any action), and sooner or later it will appear. And now a person, already exhausted from solving other problems and thoughts in "chests", receives another, the same, terrible, enlarged …
The prospect is so-so. It is better to find out about problems or lack thereof right away - in order to solve them while they are small, or so that you do not worry in vain, but walk with a free gait. Sometimes, having learned that the "suspect" is real, a person feels relief - now he does not need to think about it, he needs to act.

The Tree Of Fear. Fear As A Stimulus For Development
In psychology, there are several versions of the development of fears and anxieties. Anatoly Ulyanov, in his book "Children's Fears", summarizing the experience of such researchers of the psyche as Rene Spitz, Melanie Klein, Margaret Muller, Donald Woods Winnicott, Anna Freud and Sigmund Freud, briefly lists the fears inherent in a particular age of the child, speaking about studies showing the presence of a whole spectrum of innate fears.
